Preserving Nature's Canvas
Spanning 11 acres, our estate is a testament to low-density development, featuring only 7 exclusive suites. This conscious choice ensures minimal environmental impact and preserves the natural beauty of Tobago. We have meticulously maintained the original trees, ensuring that the native flora and fauna continue to thrive in their natural habitat.
Sustainable Architecture and Local Engagement
Our commitment to sustainability extends to our architectural choices. The villas are strategically built on land less suited for farming, leaving arable land available for agricultural use. This decision reflects our deep respect for the island’s farming community and ecosystem.
Organic Practices and Environmental Care
Our commitment to the environment is evident in our organic farming practices and the use of composting to enrich the soil naturally. We strictly use low-impact, environmentally friendly cleaning agents to minimize our ecological footprint.
Close-knit Relationship with the Local Community
At Being Estate Villas, we believe that sustainability goes beyond birds, bees and trees. We take pride in our close-knit relationship with the local community. By insisting on local labour for all contracting work, we not only contribute to the local economy but also celebrate the skills and craftsmanship of our neighbours. For instance, Marley, our next-door neighbour and a local steel bender, played a significant role during construction. And now, his son Devern, enhances our guests’ experiences as our Guest Happiness Provider.
Craftsmanship and Local Artistry
The essence of Tobago’s craftsmanship is showcased in every corner of our villas. All our beds were handcrafted by Paul Joseph, a skilled carpenter from the nearby village of Plymouth, adding a touch of local artistry and authenticity to our guestrooms.
Empowering Local Entrepreneurs
We believe in empowering the people around us. Carlina, our former housekeeper from the nearby village, now delights our guests with her organic chocolates and engaging chocolate-making classes. This initiative not only supports local entrepreneurship but also offers our guests a unique, authentic experience.
Elevating Lives
At Being Estate Villas, our commitment to sustainability transcends environmental aspects and deeply touches human lives. A heartwarming example of this is the story of Sydney Jefferson Grant, affectionately known as ‘Sugars’. Initially, Sugars was a local fisherman who frequented our estate, selling fish and wilks from the nearby bay. During those times, he struggled with drug addiction and faced numerous challenges. However, over the past 30 years, through consistent support, love, and encouragement from the Being Estate community, Sugars has transformed his life remarkably. We are proud and overjoyed to share that he has been drug-free for over two decades. Sugars’ journey is not just a personal victory; it’s a testament to the power of community support and belief in human potential. With true sustainability addicts can become assets. Today, he stands as a pillar of strength and dedication, having contributed enormously to the growth and development of Being Estate Villas. His story is a shining example of how we, at Being Estate Villas, are committed not only to the environment but also to elevating the lives of those around us.
A Symphony of Nature and Comfort
In our unwavering commitment to environmental stewardship, Being Estate Villas has pioneered a paperless approach in our operations. Since 2010, long before it became a necessity, we adopted paperless check-in and check-out procedures, ensuring that our administrative processes do not come at the cost of our precious trees. This foresight not only demonstrates our dedication to reducing our ecological footprint but also positioned us ahead of the curve when the Covid-19 pandemic demanded contactless procedures. Our guests enjoy a seamless, eco-friendly experience from the moment they arrive until their departure, all while knowing that their stay does not compromise the health of our planet.
The Journey Continues
Being Estate Villas is more than just a luxury retreat; it’s a living example of how luxury and sustainability can go hand-in-hand. Our commitment to preserving Tobago’s natural beauty, supporting local communities, and practicing environmental stewardship makes us a unique destination for responsible tourism.

Each step we take is guided by a deep commitment to preserving the natural beauty of Tobago, nurturing the local community, and fostering an environment where nature and humanity coexist in harmony.
